Although the first three installments of the Pitch Perfect franchise were financially successful, no plans were ever made for a fourth. After its initial September 2012 theatrical release, Pitch Perfect made over $100 million at the worldwide box office and quickly became a cable television staple.
The success of the film spawned not one but two sequels, Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) and Pitch Perfect 3 (2017), the latter of which is set after the Barden Bellas had completed their university studies. With the success of two sequels, it seemed inevitable that a Pitch Perfect 4 would be made; nevertheless, this has not happened.
Since a cappella was becoming increasingly popular in the late 2000s and early 2010s, the release of Pitch Perfect couldn’t have been better timed. Pitch Perfect’s introduction of the Barden Bellas, who compete in a cappella, was groundbreaking because it immersed viewers in the world of a cappella competition.
Due to the film’s unexpected success, two sequels were made to continue the story of the Barden University a cappella club. The film, which included the talents of Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, and many others, was a refreshing mix of music and comedy.
Pitch Perfect 4 Release Date
According to sources, After the success of Pitch Perfect 2, Universal decided against greenlighting a fourth film in the franchise and instead developed a television series for Peacock called Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, which featured the return of Adam DeVine and Flula Borg, who both previously appeared in the film as members of the Barden Bellas’ rival group, Das Sound Machine.
Bumper in Berlin was presumably an attempt by NBCUniversal to bolster its TV series schedule without resorting to a direct sequel.
Bumper had already made two appearances in the Pitch Perfect films, and Bumper in Berlin made use of the established universe the franchise established to tell the story of Bumper’s continuing journey. After the mixed reactions to Pitch Perfect 3, the continuation of the series may have seemed like a safer bet than making Pitch Perfect 4.
Since a release date for the fourth film has not yet been confirmed, speculation about when it might arrive is difficult at this time.
When in October 2018 Rebel Wilson posted a photo of herself and co-stars Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, and Chrissie Fit holding up four fingers, fans grew thrilled about the possibility of a Pitch Perfect 4.
Pitch Perfect 4 Cast Members: Who Are in It?
In addition to the photo she posted on Instagram, Rebel Wilson told Vanity Fair that a fourth film is in the works for 2018 and that the ensemble would be thrilled to return. In 2022, Brittany Snow said producing Pitch Perfect 4 was a “no-brainer” and that she enjoyed working on the film. When asked if she would be interested in doing Pitch Perfect 4, Snow replied she would “love” to do so if only to see and perform with her former co-stars again.
Anna Camp has also stated her desire to return for a fourth movie. In an interview with ET Online in 2019, Camp stated that she would return to reprise the role if asked. In a similar vein, Anna Kendrick has expressed enthusiasm for a Pitch Perfect 4 by telling EW in 2017 that she and her co-stars “would do them forever,” implying that they would be open to returning for additional sequels beyond a fourth film.
Pitch Perfect 4 Plotline: What Can We Expect From It?
The Bellas reunited three years after the events of the second film for a USO (United Service Organizations) trip throughout the globe, and this tour was supposed to be their farewell tour. There was a competition, as there always is, and the winner got to open for DJ Khaled.
Beca, with the approval of the Bellas, opens for DJ Khaled after a confusing encounter with some thugs, and the whole group then performs together for the last time.
Possibly cognizant that this would be the last film in the series, all of the characters were given satisfying conclusions, including Beca landing a job with DJ Khaled, Aubrey reconciling with her father, Chloe being accepted to veterinary school, Emily returning to Barden University, and Lilly getting together with DJ Dragon Nutz.
To have any sort of story in Pitch Perfect 4, the Bellas would have to find a way to reunite, and ideally not just for another competition.
Anna Camp offers another suggestion for potential film projects. She told Collider, “We wanna do it until we’re old and we’re acting in a retirement home,” and she suggested meeting up with the Bellas every five or 10 years to discuss their progress.

In a bid to win collegiate music contests, she pushes the group’s female members beyond their comfort zone of standard arrangements and into a realm of astounding harmonic combinations. For more details visit our website Jerseyshorevibe.com
