Given that Neve Campbell’s character Maggie McPherson left her position as a criminal prosecutor at the end of Season 1, her joining the cast is sure to draw some criticism. It will be interesting to see how the writers of the show resolve these conflicting plot points because she still works at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office in “The Fifth Witness.” The most likely scenario seems to be a partial departure from the novel’s original plot.
Media reported on October 26, 2022, that Lana Parrilla, who was most recently seen in the films “Why Women Kill” and “Once Upon a Time,” would be joining the second season of “The Lincoln Lawyer.” She will portray Lisa Trammell, a recurring character who is Mickey’s longtime friend who is fighting to keep her restaurant open in the face of a threatening real estate developer.
Additionally, according to Deadline, Yaya DaCosta, formerly of “Chicago Med” and “Our Kind of People,” will appear in Season 2 of the show as Andrea Freeman, Mickey’s fierce rival and the only prosecutor in history to never lose a case.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Plot
We know that the first season of The Lincoln Lawyer finished on a cliffhanger. There was a scene where Mickey was going surfing and a mystery man with a tattoo on his forearm was watching him from a distance. Even so, loyal fans of the show will realize when they see that man that he is possibly the same person who was mentioned by a key witness in Jesus Menendez’s case, Glory Days.
For those who don’t know, Menendez was wrongly accused of a murder he didn’t commit and had to spend more time in jail for the same crime. In season one, however, Glory’s testimony that he was really innocent got him out of jail. In fact, he also said that the real killer was a man whose wrist was covered in tattoos.
Glory doesn’t say who he is, but when the last scene shows that tattooed wrist following Mickey on the beach, we know that Mickey is in a lot of trouble. The second season will likely then go over what happened after Glory’s statement and how the mystery man and Mickey met.
As was already said, season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer will be based on Connelley’s book The Fifth Witness. In this book, Mickey defends Lisa Trammel, a longtime client who is accused of killing her husband.
Mickey gets a key witness to take the Fifth Amendment before giving his evidence. This is important to the plot. This makes a reference to the right to refuse to answer questions that could help with an illegal case.
