Dining Along The Shore

2019 Jersey Shore Dining Guide

Here are a few of our favorite places, and our reader's choices for some of the best food at the Jersey Shore. Have a favorite place you like to dine? Let us know about it and we will take up the unfortunate task of trying it out...

Every shore local has their favorite and there are many options to choose from. Dining at the Jersey Shore features sheer opulence to no-frills dining, it’s all about the food. Seafood is king at the shore but there are many different cuisines represented here, from Classic American to Peruvian.

There are a lot of places to eat, some with amazing views of the Atlantic and the bays, the views are a great addition to the dining experience but for foodies, it’s really the food that matters.

McDonagh's Pub/Keyport

Love a good Irish pub? McDonagh's Pub is located in heart of downtown Keyport in a turn of the century building has a lively atmosphere and a huge menu. Traditional Irish favorites and over 80 beers and lagers from across the globe.

Broad Street Diner/Keyport

When it comes to diner food, New Jersey is the place to be. It also makes us a bit picky about the food.

The Broad Street Diner located in Keyport is one of those amazing Mahoney Diners that aficionados flock to. Besides the Elvis statue sitting and strumming a guitar, and the fact that it is an authentic Mahoney Diner, the food is tremendous. From breakfast to dinner this place has tasty offerings. Not your typical diner food, it offers a decidedly upscale twist on traditional diner favorites.

Must Have: The Sausage Gravy, the Chocolate Babka French Toast

Lady Magpie's Tea & Curiosities/Tuckerton

A steampunk tearoom. Yes, steampunk. This is a very cool tearoom located inside the Sea Captain's House at the historic Tuckerton Seaport. A Victorian mansion built in 1855, the Bartlett-Rockhill House, also known as the Sea Captain's House is home to this eclectic tearoom and curiosities shop. Restoration of this magnificent home is ongoing, but it is a perfect setting for a very civilized cup of tea.

The secret as you all know is in the sauce. If it's not the right color it isn't good. This stuff is good.

This is a must try the next time you're in Barnegat.
