May 23, 2019—The big weekend is finally here, the official opening of the Jersey Shore has arrived. There are so many events going on all along the shore this weekend. It’s going to be beautiful weather with highs in the 70's, and sun, sun, sun. There’s no better time to get out and about and enjoy your big weekend at the shore.

There’s something for everyone going on this weekend and here are a few events you won’t want to miss.

Foodies, you must get to Monmouth Park in Oceanport for the Jersey Shore Food Truck Festival, May 25-27. Gather your friends and come hungry because it’s time for the annual Jersey Shore Food Truck Festival and get ready to kick off the foodie festival season! This year’s Jersey Shore Food Truck Festival will feature over 40 mouth-watering trucks serving everything from fresh-made empanadas, to ocean-fresh lobster rolls, to warm and gooey Belgian Waffle sundaes. We probably only have to say one word-BACON. Head on down to Wildwood for the Downtown Wildwood Inaugural Bacon Lovers Festival on May 25-May 27! This is an entirely NEW event for Bacon lovers! Food trucks & local tent vendors, artisan and bacon related vendors. DJ and live bands. FREE family and kid’s activities. Wine and craft beer tasting and sales in the garden/tent area. Bacon eating contest on Sunday.


Cape May Music Festival

If you love music stop by the Cape May Music Festival. The festival runs from May 26-June 14 in beautiful Cape May. Celebrating 30 years of bringing wonderful music to Cape May, the Cape May Music Festival presents classical, chamber, jazz and more each year. For more information visit the Music Festival website.

International Kite Festival

On May 24-27 you can look to the sky and enjoy the colorful magic of kites. The Wildwoods International Kite Festival comes to the beach at Rio Grande Avenue in Wildwood and the Wildwood's Convention Center. There will be kite sales, an illuminated kite fly, a flying of large inflatable kites, team flying and the World Indoor Kite Competition.

Bradley Beach Memorial Weekend Celebration

For food, music and kid’s fun along the beautiful waterfront, get to the Bradley Beach Memorial Weekend Celebration on May 25-May 27. Enjoy 6 bands and emcee, DJ playing requests, over 180 craft and specialty vendors, 25 food vendors with something for everyone, great oceanfront location, children’s activities including water slide, rides, face painters and sand art. Saturday Memorial Day Parade 10 am.

Highlands 19th Annual Seaport Craft Show

If you have a need for some shopping and you know you do, than you’ll want to get to the Highlands 19th Annual Seaport Craft Show in Huddy Park. You can shop till you drop from 10:00 am — 4:00 pm. The Highlands Business Partnership will host the 19th Annual Seaport Craft Show, rain or shine. Admission is free. Experience a delightful collection of various handmade crafts from more than 60 crafters and artisans. Shop till you drop for unique gifts, art, jewelry and personal items at this juried show.

For one of the best events at the Jersey Shore, head over to Asbury Park for a Bonfire on the Beach. May 24 at The Anchor’s Bend on the Sunset Avenue Beach at 7 pm. Bring your favorite people, your favorite snacks and your favorite beach chair!

Car Cruise at Historic Smithville & Village Greene

There’s nothing better than a Car Cruise at the Jersey Shore. On May 24, cruise on down to Historic Smithville & Village Greene and hang out! A car cruise at Historic Smithville is simply a great place to hang out with fellow car enthusiasts. 5:00 pm—8:00 pm.

On May 24 you can take in the Seaside Heights Summer Kick-Off on the Boardwalk in front of Spicy Cantina for a concert with Taylor Dayne! Dayne turned into an overnight sensation with her groundbreaking debut single, “Tell it to my Heart” in 1987. She became in international star and followed with number one smash hits such as “Love will Lead you Back”, “Prove your Love”, and “I’ll Always Love You”. This is a free event and be sure to hit the iconic Seaside Heights boardwalk for food, games and wild rides!

Fireworks at the Shore!

Of course we need to end with a bang! The fireworks season begins at the shore! On May 25, Tropicana's Free Fireworks Series begins the season. The dazzling 10-minute show returns to light up Atlantic City’s skies with a free, spectacular fireworks display at 10 p.m. every Saturday. The shows will take place every Saturday at 10 p.m. Starting Saturday, May 25, Memorial Day Weekend through Sept. 14, plus Wednesday, July 4! The fireworks don't end there!
