Thinking about the weekend yet? We bet you are! It’s Mother’s Day and we have some events that Mom may just love. From food festivals, music and shopping to events for the whole family to The Temptations and the Four Tops. The shore has something for everyone this weekend, so get out and enjoy Your Weekend at the Shore! Visit the beautiful Highlands this weekend and stop by the Brew by the Bay on Saturday, May 11. The Seafarer will host the 2019 Brew by the Bay. The tasting takes place on the picturesque waterfront; tickets are $20 and include six 4 oz. tastings and a pint of craft beer and a commemorative Pilsner cup. Additional tastings can be purchased at the event for $2. Live music, fire pits and delicious local fare.
It’s going to be a big weekend in Asbury Park. Shopping, Mother’s Day brunch and did we mention the Temptations and the Four Tops? Two classic R&B and Soul sensations will hit the Paramount Theater this weekend. “Treat Her Like a Lady” and bring back those amazing memories with Mom and the whole family on Saturday, May 11 at 8 pm.
If the sounds of the Beatles are more your speed check out The Weeklings, with the music of the Beatles and more on Friday at Tim McLoone’s Supper Club at 8:30 pm.
If you don't know the Weeklings, read our blog post, "Meet the Weeklings!" On May 11 through the 12th you and Mom can shop till you drop at the Asbury Park Bazaar. The bazaar will be at Convention Hall from noon to 5 p.m. for Mother’s Day weekend with beauty and wellness pop-ups, flowers and gifts, a photo booth, children’s art classes, vintage vendors, live music and Mother’s Day brunch. If you are looking for an event for Mom and the kids then head on down to Historic Smithville on May 11 for the Children's Festival. Enjoy a fun-filled day at Historic Smithville's annual Children's Festival. Festivities include face painting, storytelling, a puppet show, inflatables, crafts, children's games and activities, a princess meet-and-greet, and much more.
Although admission to the event is free, some activities have a small fee. Aside from this special event, Historic Smithville offers 60 shops, seven eateries, a carousel ride and train ride, paddle boats, an arcade, and on-site lodging at the Colonial Inn. Calling all beach lovers to the Seaside Spring Open on Saturday, May 11, in beautiful Seaside Heights. The welcome sign is always out in Seaside Heights. Hit the boardwalk and have some fun in the sun in Seaside with some beach volleyball! If you're Mom plays volleyball she's too cool for school...
The Car Show season is in full swing in Wildwood at the Spring Boardwalk Classic Car Show on May 10-12. The Spring Boardwalk Classic Car Show takes place every Mother’s Day weekend along the famous Wildwoods Boardwalk. Cars in the Spring Classic can be any make or model but must be at least 10 years of age or older. The vehicles will line the boardwalk on Friday and Saturday only from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Top 40 cars will be displayed in the turn-around circle in front of the Wildwoods Convention Center from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday and again from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. on Sunday. An awards ceremony will also take place on Sunday inside the Convention Center from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Participants can enjoy exclusive events throughout the weekend including a kick-off dinner party and discounts/specials provided by local restaurants and businesses.
If you are fan of country music you will want to get to the Kenny Chesney: SONGS FOR THE SAINTS TOUR at the Etess Arena at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City this Saturday. Kenny Chesney has recorded 20 albums, 14 of which have been certified Gold or higher by the RIAA. Showtime is 7:00 PM.
Maybe you would like to take your favorite ladies to the Mother’s Day Music Festival at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City this weekend. The Mother’s Day Music Festival is returning to the AC shore on Saturday, May 11th at 7pm for its 11th annual concert.
This year concert features two iconic artists, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and KEM. This will mark the second time that they will be performing together at the Mother’s Day Music Festival. This concert will also feature two of the music industry best R&B voices, Al B. Sure and Christopher Williams. Four dynamic vocalists together on one stage to make your Mother’s Day special.
